Intercept Youth Services in Richmond, VA, Central Virginia, provides comprehensive treatment programs for troubled adolescent males and females.

Our History

Intercept Youth Services was founded in 1996 by our owner and Executive Director Mark Bogert. Mark had accumulated a long history of working with youth in residential placements, with a historic vision of bettering their lives emotionally, environmentally and functionally. During the years, while working for various providers, Mark was unable to fully implement his vision. Simply put, his vision was to build a group home program that would raise the bar, and strive for excellence in all key areas of operations:

Excellence in the standards of care given to the residents placed with us

Excellence in the physical environment the residents would live in

Excellence in the service provided to the placement agencies responsible for the youth

Excellence in the commitment of all employees to a mission they could embrace with dignity and pride

It was out of this vision that Intercept was established. With a focus on excellence in programming, physical environment, staff training and cost savings Intercept has grown to be the largest Therapeutic group home provider for emotionally disturbed adolescents in the state of Virginia. With 16 homes and growing Intercept continues to tackle the problem of ongoing disturbance and disruption in families. It is our hope and mission to prepare our residents for success so that they embrace a life free from dysfunction and institutional dependency.
